Permethrin Lotion 5.0% w/v – Snuthrin Lotion is made up of Permethrin which is used to treat head lice infections and works by destroying both the lice and their eggs and is available in the form of lotion, cream, and liquid. It also kills head lice which attached to the scalp and irritates it by creating itching.
It primarily affects children above the age of five and spreads through direct touch. Scabies is a mite-caused skin illness. It is contagious and can spread from one person to another through personal contact. Patients with pediculosis and scabies suffer from rashes and continuous itching in the infected area, which increases at night.

Uses of Permethrin Lotion

Scabies are caused by small insects known as mites, which infest and irritate your skin. Permethrin Lotion is an antiparasitic medication. It acts by paralyzing and destroying both mites and their eggs.
In general, the cream should be applied all over the body except for the face and head, but see your doctor first. It should be fully rinsed away after 8-12 hours.
Often, one treatment is sufficient to treat the problem completely; however, a second application may be required a week later. This will eliminate the itching, swelling, and redness produced by mites. However, deceased mites may still cause you to itch for some time.

Precaution to use for Permethrin Lotion

Kindly inform your doctor if you are allergic to permethrin, chrysanthemum, or other medicines.
Also, inform your doctor if you have any other skin diseases or chronic diseases that will affect the function of the medicine.
Permethrin Lotion is recommended for children who are below 6 years old, pregnant women, breastfeeding women, and elder people only if they are consulted with their doctors.
Take the suggested dose of the lotion which is defined by your dermatologist and doctor.
If the patient has any abnormal signs while using the lotion then consult with the doctor immediately.

Direction to use for Permethrin Lotion

Your doctor will tell you how to use Permethrin Lotion and how much you need. Read the directions that come with the drug to ensure that you use it properly.
Before you use it, make sure your skin is clean, dry, and cool. Your entire body should be properly cleaned 8-14 hours after taking this medication.
Most people only need to use it once to treat their illness; however, if a second application is required, allow at least 7 days. Itching may persist for several weeks following scabies treatment.
This is most likely an allergic reaction to dead mites, not an indication that the treatment has failed.
